SAICE: Bridging the GAP: BIM Knowledge & Industry Expertise

Building Information Modelling (BIM) workflows & technologies have enabled architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) professionals to efficiently capture, design, construct, and model contextually the as-built environment. BIM affords professionals intelligence and innovation in achieving their tasks, however, the Civil Industry has stagnated in its processes, resulting in a gap between academic knowledge and innovative infrastructure delivery and technology adoption. This session will be focusing on new career paths technology has created as well as bridging this gap and ushering the civil industry to embrace technology and academia to form the perfect symbiosis for sustainable, intelligent infrastructure delivery.
